Detectagas has added the latest industry safety award to a growing list of accolades, winning the "Installer Live" "Safety Initiative of the Year Award 2011." The team behind the multi-award winning system accepted the award at the Installer Live Awards dinner, one of our industry's most prestigious, after being chosen from a record number of entries and a short list of some very large, high profile names.

A delighted John Stones, inventor of Detectagas, said: "This latest award is a further endorsement of the Detectagas calibrated test kit and recognises that it is imperative for Carbon Monoxide alarms to be tested regularly from the date of installation and annually over the life of the alarm. This is one of the industry's most respected forums applauding our efforts in highlighting the importance of CO alarm sensor testing - and underlines our 15 year campaign for improved sensor inclusive safety checks on CO alarms. We are now probably the most award winning product in the sector but many continue to rely on so called test buttons that do nothing more than test the electronic circuit and battery life or on what I consider the bizarre notion of testing life saving devices' sensors with cigarettes or joss sticks."
