Welcome to Detectagas, an award-winning innovator in carbon monoxide (CO) detection. The Detectagas carbon monoxide test kit is at the forefront of CO safety awareness. Responding to the growing concerns about the limited lifetime and reliability of CO alarms. Detectagas calibrated test gas is an innovative product that allows you to quickly and simply test the carbon monoxide sensor. By regularly testing the CO alarm with a calibrated test gas, the end user can be assured that the sensor, the key component of the CO alarm is functioning.

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association approximately 2000 lives are lost to CO poisoning each year. CO rapidly accumulates in blood and attaches itself to the hemoglobin. This displaces the oxygen needed by cells and organs to function.

Everyone is at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning. The most vulnerable are,

  • Young children under 6 years of age
  • Pregnant women can be effected by CO. In addition, this poison can be passed to the unborn child.
  • The elderly are particularly at risk as they may have pre-existing heart, lung or circulatory conditions. Anyone with such conditions will have lower tolerance than healthy adults and so face an increased risk of fatal CO exposure.
